Global Competence Training and Workshops

 ReGlobED offers dynamic and research-based global competence trainings led by certified AFS Global Competence Certificate Facilitators. These workshops are designed to equip students, educators, staff, and professionals with the intercultural awareness, empathy, and communication skills necessary to navigate today’s diverse and interconnected world. Each training is grounded in the AFS Global Competence Certificate curriculum and tailored to meet the specific needs of the audience and institutional context. 

 Our workshops address key components of global competence development, including:

• Understanding cultural values and identity
• Recognizing and addressing unconscious bias
• Developing active listening and intercultural communication skills
• Building empathy and perspective-taking
• Navigating cultural adaptation and re-entry
• Applying global competence in academic, workplace, and community settings

 We offer customized training experiences for a wide range of audiences across education, nonprofit, and professional sectors, including:

• Higher Education: Students preparing for or returning from study abroad, first-generation and underrepresented learners engaging globally for the first time, faculty and staff leading global initiatives, and administrators advancing campus internationalization and DEI goals
   
• K–12 Schools and Districts: Educators, administrators, and global learning coordinators working to build inclusive classrooms and prepare students for global citizenship
   
• Nonprofit Organizations: Staff and volunteers working across cultures or in global development, youth leadership, advocacy, or cross-border service delivery
   
• Corporate and Private Sector Teams: Professionals in globally engaged industries such as tech, healthcare, education consulting, and international business who need tools to communicate effectively across cultures and build inclusive, high-performing teams
   
• Government and Civic Agencies: Teams engaging with diverse communities, international partners, or global policy work seeking to improve cultural responsiveness and global awareness
   
• Faith-Based and Community Organizations: Leaders and volunteers involved in missions, service trips, or multicultural community programsWe help institutions enhance the functionality of the Study Abroad module by reviewing and optimizing program listings, application workflows, and advisor tools. ReGlobED works closely with staff to configure conditional logic, automate communications, build forms, and streamline the student experience. We also support updates to reflect changes in program offerings, eligibility requirements, or campus processes. Our services ensure that the Study Abroad module is not only functional but student-friendly, efficient, and aligned with learning outcomes and risk protocols.

 ReGlobED offers workshops in a variety of formats, including:

• One-time sessions (60–90 minutes)
• Multi-session learning series
• Full-day or half-day intensives 
• Virtual, in-person, or hybrid delivery options
   

We also offer pre-departure and re-entry workshops that can be integrated into study abroad programs or campus internationalization efforts. Institutions may choose to offer these trainings as stand-alone experiences or embed them into orientation, course modules, or professional development programs.
